The Shark Tank is a kind of less technical version of The Daily WTF, involving lots more management screw-ups in IT companies. I enjoyed this latest story and thought you would too:
Bill is a guy who works in this pilot fish’s office, and he’s a friendly sort — in his way.
“Bill would walk around to everyone’s office and talk to them about all sorts of self-involved topics that never had anything to do with the poor sap who was trying to get some work done,” says fish.
“And there was no way to disengage. Every attempt was futile and would lead to some other banal topic — locking in that feeling that you would not be able to get anything done for the next 20 minutes or so.”
Not surprisingly, everyone in the department keeps a sharp eye out for potential “Bill incidents.” When they spot Bill descending, co-workers call the victim, pretending to ask about something work-related.
